Beating Around the Busch

Herzog-Jackson Motorsports has landed a six-race sponsorship deal for driver Todd Bodine. The team, prior to the Gateway event had run all but one race without the support of a sponsor.

Nearly missing the event at Richmond, a one-race deal was inked with the GPS Store, and now a new deal with ESGR will carry the team through the June race in Kentucky.

ESGR, The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency that acts as a liaison between those serving in the Guard or the Reserve and their full-time civilian employers.

Bristol Motorsports did not make the St. Louis event and has indicated that the team will remain parked for the next several weeks as internal re-structuring begins. Bristol took two hard hits, as it’s primary sponsor, Toys R Us, left the team along with driver Hermie Sadler, who has chosen to focus all his efforts on his Winston Cup team.

S2 Motorsports has indicated that Steve Park has been released from his driving commitments. Park, who was also released from DEI, was to run several events with Maxwell House on board as a sponsor. Park ran Las Vegas for the team finishing forth.

A replacement driver has not been announced. The S2 entry is currently running a part time schedule with drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Martin Truex.

Jeff Green and Harold Holly are reuniting, and will attempt to qualify for the Car Quest 300 at the Lowes Motor Speedway. The pair will run a car owned by team Amick Motorsports in there attempt to win three consecutive spring events at the Charlotte track.

David Greens assumption of; the points lead makes the first time Brewco Motorsports has led the series championship standings.

Jason Keller will mark his 300th career Busch Series start at Nazareth Speedway. Keller who is the defending race winner currently is fifth in the overall series point’s standings.
