After a weekend off for Easter, us DFS players get 500 laps at Martinsville to kick the NASCAR season back into gear with the Blu-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 on Saturday night. Last season was the first time that we raced under the lights at Martinsville and, surprise, surprise, it was Martin Truex, Jr. in victory lane at the end of the night followed by the usual Martinsville heavy hitters of Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Chase Elliott rounding out the top 5.

One major difference from that race to this weekend’s is that last year’s was ran in the middle of summer (June). This made the track changes even more drastic as the sun went down, and threw a lot of crew chiefs through a loop on what to expect. That shouldn’t happen this time around, and if the rain forecast remains steady, we might not even be racing at night this weekend.

Optimal DraftKings Lineup (according to Jordan’s projections)

  1. Martin Truex, Jr.
  2. Joey Logano
  3. Ryan Blaney
  4. Ross Chastain
  5. Corey LaJoie
  6. Anthony Alfredo

Confidence Meter: 6.6/10. I don’t mind this for a cash lineup, honestly. DraftKings has LaJoie and Alfredo under-priced by quite a bit, and Chastain has been consistent this year on getting top 20 finishes, which is good since he starts back in 27th this weekend. But I can’t say this would be the lineup I’d gravitate toward immediately if I wasn’t using projections or anything. Be sure to watch my video below on alternate lineup builds, as there are many ways to go this weekend in DraftKings due to the pricing.

Optimal FanDuel Lineup (according to Jordan’s projections)

  1. Martin Truex, Jr.
  2. Joey Logano
  3. Ryan Blaney
  4. Kurt Busch
  5. Ross Chastain

Confidence Meter: 8.7/10. If we see a three dominator race, I really like this type of lineup. Basically what you’re banking on here is Joey Logano to lead the first 100+ laps, then Ryan Blaney to lead for a bit, and then Truex coming in like he normally does at Martinsville and grabbing his laps led as well. All three of those guys should challenge for the win. Then we have Kurt Busch, who has top 10 potential, and Ross Chastain to round things out (you can read my thoughts on Chastain in my article). If you didn’t want to go with three drivers starting up front, you could switch off of Blaney to Kyle Larson and then that would give you room to grab Alex Bowman if you didn’t want to stick with Kurt.

  1. Hey Jordan, i noticed you are entered in DFKS $88 contest. This is my first yr playing DFKS and been doing ok just entering the $3, $12 contests. Havn`t won one yet but just enough to keep playing. What are your thoughts if you do not mind on this line-up, Truex, Hamlin, Almirola, Chastain, Wallace? Just trying to get a win in one of these low ball contests. Thanks J
