Well, this is it. One last race to decide the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Championship. It’s down to Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Denny Hamlin, with the new Cup Champion being the one between those four who finishes the best on Sunday at Phoenix. We last raced here back in March, and those four drivers combined to lead 235 of the 316 laps, and you can expect those guys to be out front for most of the day this weekend as well.

NOTE: Chase Elliott will have to start from the rear for this race after failing pre-race inspection. The algorithm rankings have been updated to adjust for this news.

There are quite a few statistics that go into the Power Index formula, including recent performance both overall and at the Phoenix specifically, similar track performance, projected strength of the car, practice speeds, starting position, and a few other variables.

Here’s a quick overview of the Power Index number: essentially, zero (0) is considered average; the more negative a number is in the Power Index, the stronger that driver is considered in the Fantasy NASCAR world. The opposite holds true as well: the more above zero a driver is, the worse he is considered for Fantasy NASCAR that week.
