Starting Lineup for the Martinsville STP 500

Starting position at Martinsville Speedway is important for obvious reasons: this half-mile short track sees cars going a lap down in the blink of an eye, and passing here can be difficult, especially if a driver is trying to stay friends with the guy he’s trying to get around. As in typical fashion at this track, NASCAR went with a condensed schedule and held both practice sessions early on Saturday along with qualifying later in the day after the truck race.
