The Daytona 500 does qualifying in a very unique way. Last Sunday, all of the drivers entered had single-car runs, but only the two fastest cars–Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Alex Bowman–locked in their starting position for this year’s Great American Race. The rest of the starting lineup was determined by the finishing orders of the two Duel races at Daytona on Thursday night.
