Hello all Fantasy Racing Online players! Long time no talk.

Well, we’re almost to the month of May and there’s been some updates over the last few days, so let’s go over those.

First, Ryan Newman is cleared to drive again, and he has said he will get back in the #6 Ford for Roush-Fenway Racing once NASCAR starts back up again. This will put Ross Chastain back on the sidelines as far as the Cup Series goes.

Additionally, Kyle Larson has been fired by Chip Ganassi Racing for his remarks during one of the iRacing events. It was announced yesterday that MATT KENSETH will be returning to NASCAR to take over that #42 Chevrolet for the rest of the year. A very interesting move there by CGR–probably to salvage sponsor relationships, in my opinion.

As far as a restart date, NASCAR has not announced anything official, but there are rumors swirling that May 17 at Darlington could be the date of return. Again, nothing has been made official, so don’t take that as fact.

NASCAR still plans to run the full season schedule this year, and that is probably going to require mid-week races and doubleheader weekends. The fantasy contests here at Fantasy Racing Online will follow the same schedule.

As always, I’ll update again when I know more.

Stay healthy.

  1. jordan,

with Larson being fired , does his spot in the Salary Cap Challenge change to Kenseth or do we have to use a drop for that change, what value would Kenseth be ?

    • You get points based on car number, not driver, so if you have the #42 Chevy you will receive the points that Kenseth (or whoever is driving) earns.

    • Larry, Here’s the announced Stage breaks for each race (laps):

      1st Darlington: 90/185/293
      2nd Darlington: 60/125/228
      1st Charlotte: 100/200/300/400
      2nd Charlotte: 55/115/208
