The news we have all been waiting for is now officially out: NASCAR is starting back up.

Live racing will return on May 17 at Darlington Raceway, and NASCAR has seven races scheduled over the 10 days from then until May 27. Four of those races will be Cup Series races, which will be the ones that are used for the fantasy contests here at Fantasy Racing Online. Here are the races currently scheduled:

  • May 17 (Sunday) – Darlington – 3:30 pm ET – 400 miles
  • May 20 (Wednesday) – Darlington – 7:30 pm ET – 310 miles
  • May 24 (Sunday) – Charlotte – 6:00 pm ET – 600 miles
  • May 27 (Wednesday) – Charlotte – 8:00 pm ET – 310 miles

As you can see, the races are quite a bit shorter than usual. A few other major changes for these races include no practice sessions, and we will only have qualifying for the 600-mile race at Charlotte on May 24. How the starting lineup for the other races will be determined has yet to be announced.

The Fantasy NASCAR world will continue to be a little crazy but I will do my best to keep you updated with everything going on, as I normally do.

Let the countdown begin!
